Justin Kirnon is known for his public affairs prowess and experience in policy analysis, government and crisis communication strategy implementation. Justin is eager to draw from his extensive experience and passion for public affairs over the last decade as a lobbyist as he joins the dynamic Capital City Public Affairs team.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kirnon developed numerous policies and obtained substantial knowledge in various industries, including public safety, transportation, technology, and local government. In 2022, Mr. Kirnon added to his municipal and legislative expertise by serving as the Statewide Political Director for One Georgia and the Stacey Abrams campaign. He managed a skilled team to develop and execute political, civic engagement and relationship building strategies throughout the state.

Mr. Kirnon’s career experience also includes previously managing Troutman Pepper Strategies’ state affairs division, leading the government relations team at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and the Georgia Municipal Association. At Troutman, he recruited clients across multiple fields, developed and expanded relationships with public officials and other influential federal, state, and local policymakers and grassroots and community support for his valued clients. At MARTA, Mr. Kirnon increased region-wide awareness of the Authority’s service and strategic planning initiatives. He also deployed his community engagement competencies by representing the Authority at constituent forums, government gatherings, and focus groups. Before joining MARTA, Justin served as a Senior Governmental Relations Associate with the Georgia Municipal Association. Here, he had the privilege of representing the advocacy needs of more than 500 cities at the State Capitol.

Mr. Kirnon is a double Graduate of Valdosta State University, receiving a Bachelor’s in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations and a Master of Public Administration.
